<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The background of this study is the teachers’ ability that has not been optimized in applying Learning Unit Curriculum (KTSP). One of the reasons is the information about the curriculum given to the teachers is not equal. Therefore, independent teacher discussion (MGMP) was initiated by using Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) analysis to overcome this problem. The result of this study showed the increase of teachers’ ability in applying the curriculum in the learning process. The increase could be seen from the knowledge both theoretically and practically. The illustration of increase in the teachers’ ability could also be seen through observation process during the MGMP activity and monitoring on practical activity at on service level.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> This is a Classroom Action Research which aims to find out the influence of online tryout as a remedial media for Bahasa Indonesia questions toward the ability of class IX-1 students of SMP Nasional KPS Balikpapan in National Examination year 2008. This study has three cycles. The first and second cycles are exercises in doing Bahasa Indonesia questions taken from compilation book of final examination prediction, done by the students both individually and in group. While in the third cycle, students did the remedial of Bahasa Indonesia questions using online tryout. The result of this study showed that doing questions on online tryout could improve IX-1 students’ scores in Final Examination 2008. The score of Bahasa Indonesia tryout test 5,04 increased to 6,97 in Final Test 2008.</p>

This study was conducted in a high school in Malang. The research subjects were 3 indiscipline students based on primary study. The technique of data collecting was observation, interview, documentary, and discussing with informants (teachers and counselors). The data was analyzed descriptively based on the research focus.</p>

PQ4R strategy represents one part of elaborated strategy. This strategy was used to assist students remember what they read, and to help teaching-learning process in the classroom by reading book. Book-reading activity was aimed for the students to learn until they finished the chapter, for the sake of the chapter of handbook. Therefore the first fundamental skill to be developed and mastered by all students is reading their handbooks and other additional reading materials.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> Mathematics is a universal knowledge that becomes the foundation of modern technology development. It has an important role in various disciplines and in improving human’s thinking ability. This writing is a Classroom Action Research held in class VIII.D of SMPN 14, in semester 1 of Year Academic 2007/2008, with 42 students as the subjects. The result of this research showed that the use of linear equation with two variables can improve the students’ ability in solving the problem. It is because the students were used to the activity assessment carried out in this research.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The learning of Bahasa Indonesia for linguistic aspects namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Of all the four skills, writing is the most complex. The regulation of writing in Bahasa Indonesia stated in Ejaan Umum Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan (EYD) in its development, has been through many obstacles such as variation of form, functional deviation and some writing peculiarities cause by habit, unawareness, lack of conditioning, performance, and lack of care of many parties. Mistakes in writing skill surely will give bad effect toward the learning results of Bahasa Indonesia. It would be unfortunate if our young generations were unaware of the determined writing rules. In this case, the teacher has a role as the key to solve the problems in Bahasa Indonesia writing.</p>

It aims to: (1) arise the system of serving a more representative concept of biological variety so the students can be more active, (2) use ICT as learning media of biological variety, and (3) increase the quality of learning and learning result on concept of biological variety. The result of this study shows that the learning process on the concept of biological variety with the aids of ICT could increase the students’ activity and cooperative skills in their learning groups. It could also increase the students’ learning result. The increase of students’ activity and cooperative skills had influence to their learning result. In other word, there was an increase in students’ ability in receiving the lesson with the proof that the students’ learning completion was improved.</p>
